NFL Preseason Betting Odds: Gambling Begins With Bengals, Cowboys

It has been a long off season for NFL bettors, but this week the off season will officially come to an end. NFL preseason betting odds are already available for the first game of the year this Sunday.

Two teams that made the playoffs last year will face off in the exhibition opener. Dallas and Cincinnati both have Super Bowl aspirations, and fans of these teams will get their first look at the new versions of the squads.

The Bengals have made one of the most controversial moves of the off season this past week when they signed wide receiver Terrell Owens. The dynamic receiver will be paired with Chad Ocho Cinco, making any touchdowns must see television this season in Cincinnati.

The Cowboys enter this season coming off a campaign in which they won their first post season game in over a decade. The expectations have been raised with owner Jerry Jones hoping his Cowboys can represent the NFC in their home stadium at this year's Super Bowl.

Odds makers have made the Bengals the favorite for Sunday's opener. The Bengals are -2.5 and the total of 32.5 would suggest that the offenses may have some rust. The projected starters for both teams may only play one series, if they even play at all. From there, backups and players trying to make the teams will take over.

The Bengals, Cowboys, game is the only one scheduled this week. The rest of the league will kick off their new season's next week, with three games scheduled for August 12th through August 16th. Each team will play four exhibition games before the regular season starts.
