NFL Preseason Monday Night Betting Preview: Arizona And Tennessee

The Arizona Cardinals and the Tennessee Titans know what it is like to be on top of the NFL. The Cardinals were in the Super Bowl two seasons ago, and the Titans had the best record in the AFC that season.

After a lost year for both teams, the Cardinals and the Titans will face off tonight in a preseason Monday night match up. The two teams will be looking to find out if they have the personnel to get back on top of the league.

Arizona may have a few more questions to answer than the Titans. The Cardinals lost their starting quarterback, Kurt Warner, to retirement, and a top wide receiver, Anquan Boldin, in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens. Matt Leinert is expected to step in at quarterback.

The Titans started the season terribly last year, but came on strong in the second half. Chris Johnson became the most dynamic running back in the league, and Vince Young was handed the starting job at quarterback. The Titans believe that Young has finally matured into the leader the Titans thought they were acquiring when they drafted him out of Texas.

In the AFC South, the Titans will still have to contend with the defending AFC champion Indianapolis Colts. The Houston Texans have also improved each of the past two years and may now be ready to make their first playoff appearance in the history of the organization. The Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to be near the bottom of the division.

The Cardinals will have a tough time maneuvering through their division, the NFC West, as well. The San Francisco 49ers are considered to be the co-favorites with the Cardinals to win the division. The Seattle Seahawks should be improved, and the St. Louis Rams are in rebuilding mode.

Tonight, the Titans are favored by four points over the Cardinals. The betting total for the game is 37.5, slightly higher than most early preseason game totals.
