NFL This Week As Close To Regular Season As It Will Get
Veteran players who have job security have cruised through preseason so far, but that will change tonight when week three of the exhibition season begins.
Starters have typically played longer in teams third games of preseason, so starting tonight, it is expected that most teams will play their starters for a full half of football, and some even into the third quarter.
Jacksonville travels to face Green Bay tonight. The Jaguars are favored by 3 and the total is 38. Brett Favre will most likely be playing in his final few exhibition games as he is expected to retire at seasons end.
Kansas City is also in action tonight as they will play host to Reggie Bush and the New Orleans Saints. The Chiefs are favored by 1 and the game has a total of 37. It is not certain whether Larry Johnson will see action in the game, but even if he plays, it will probably not be for very long.
Both games tonight have low totals and this may be the week to jump on some of these low totals and take the games to go over. With many starters playing longer, it would make sense that more points will be scored than in previous weeks.
Next week is the last week of preseason games, leading up to the start of the new football season. Not many teams will risk injury in the last exhibition game, so anyone scouting for fantasy football will have to pay close attention this weekend.
