NHL Playoffs Begin, Detroit Red Wings Are Gambling Favorites

The Detroit Red Wings are no stranger to being favored. They have won Stanley Cups being favored, and also when they were underdogs. This year, as the playoffs begin, they are once again favored to win a championship.

Their current odds to win the whole thing are 7-2. Two other teams from the Western Conference join them as favorites. The San Jose Sharks are 4-1, and the Anaheim Ducks are 6-1.

After those three teams, an old familiar face shows their head at the top of gambling odds. The Montreal Canadiens used to be a powerhouse hockey organization. They may have fought their way back towards being dominant again. They are 7-1.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have been led by possibly the best young player since Wayne Gretzky in Sidney Crosby, their odds to win a title are 8-1. The Washington Capitols are next at 10-1.

A pair of teams from the East Coast come in next. The New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devils are both holding at 12-1. The Rangers are looking for their first title since Mark Messier carried them to the Cup.

The long shot to win this year is the Nashville Predators. their odds are worth playing for gamblers who like underdogs. They are 45-1. In hockey, the team, and more specifically, the goalie, who gets hot, usually skates away with the Stanley Cup.
