No Final Four College Basketball Betting At Windsor Casino
The college basketball Final Four is one of the most gambled on sporting events in the US. March Madness has become a staple for bettors all across the country and although the Final Four is in early April, it is still the pinnacle of gambling on the sport.
The Caesars Windsor Casino in Ontario has decided to cooperate with the NCAA and pause all sports betting on the Final Four. The games are being held too close to the casino and the NCAA does not want that to become a problem.
The NCAA requested that the betting be stopped for that weekend and their request was met with little resistance. The city of Windsor supported the request, which was made to the Ontario Lottery Gaming Corp.
It is a major blow to the casino itself in terms of potential revenue. The Final Four is three basketball games, two on Saturday and one on Monday, that will determine the champion of college basketball this year.
Betting on college basketball has picked up over the past decade with more television exposure. The NCAA tournament always comes filled with many upsets and bettors are drawn to the excitement of the games.
In the case of Caesars Windsor, the NCAA was concerned that people would cross over and bet on the games in the city. The Detroit casinos do not allow sports gambling nor does the surrounding states to Michigan.
