No More Hype, Super Bowl Bettors Must Pick Their Poison
The world of sports gambling does not get much bigger than the Super Bowl. It is the most watched sporting event in the world on a yearly basis, and the majority of that interest comes from gamblers who annually try to capitalize on the winning teams fortunes.
The debates have been going on for almost two weeks and no matter how much someone thinks they are right, only one thing will allow them bragging rights for the next year. Did they win money betting on the Super Bowl?
The teams playing are inconsequential at this point. Sure, everybody has their favorites, but the analysis has now died down to the point where a gambler must make a decision. Do they go with the favorite, and the betting public, or do they take the underdog and hope the unimaginable happens?
The unimaginable has not been so unimaginable in the past few years. The Giants upset the undefeated Patriots last year. The year before that the Bears covered the betting line against Indianapolis. In fact, of the last eight Super Bowls played, seven underdogs have covered the point spread.
Today, bettors will once again be asked to choose between the team that is supposed to win, the Steelers, and the Cinderella story, Arizona. Who knows where the final betting statistics will fall.
The only thing that is guaranteed is that the Super Bowl is kicking off later today, and that puts millions of people on the clock to pick a winner. Right or wrong, it is last call for gamblers looking for action on an NFL game this season.
