Notre Dame Facing Critics in Early Season Test

The University of Notre Dame is once again a force to be reckoned with in college football, how much a force will be determined starting tonight against Georgia Tech.

The Irish are coming off a season where they vaulted back into the spotlight under first year coach Charlie Weis.

The football program had struggled in the years leading up to Weis' arrival in South Bend, but a successful first season and the return of many of their starters from last years team, has many in the nation picking Notre Dame to win the national championship.

The teams journey begins tonight when they travel to play Georgia Tech in a primetime matchup. It will be a strong test going into a hostile environment for the Irish.

Georgia Tech is coming off a season where they upset the Miami Hurricanes on the road, so knocking off Notre Dame is not beyond belief for the Yellow Jackets.

Notre Dame is ranked #2 in the pre season polls and according to VIP sportsbook is a 7 point favorite.
