Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines Playing For Rose Bowl Trip
Ohio State spent the past few weeks as the #1 team in the country, so the mood was a bit different this week after their upset loss to Illinois dropped them out of the top spot.
"It was really devastating to lose that game last week and fall from #1, but it won't matter much if we beat Michigan this week and win the Big Ten", said Buckeye alumni Jon Hebert. The sentiment from Hebert was echoed by many Buckeye fans this week.
As for Michigan, they lost their first two games of the season, and appeared headed for a disaster, but they have rebounded nicely until their loss last week to Wisconsin, but a win today will certainly strengthen their spirits.
At stake is much more than bragging rights when they face off today, as the winner is going to win the Big Ten and be the conferences representative in the Rose Bowl. That is, of course, if Ohio State does not climb back into the national title picture.
The big house will be rocking and 100,000 strong will be ready for what seems like an annual battle for the Big Ten crown, and with these two teams, records go out the window and the gloves come off when the teams hit the field.
Many believe this rivalry is the best in all of sports, and yes, that includes the Yankees-Red Sox, and today the rivalry is renewed, in a winner take all format.
Game time is set for 12:00 noon.
