Olympic Hockey Betting Comes Down To USA And Canada For Gold
The USA has not lost a game yet in this year's Olympic hockey tournament. They have also already defeated the team they will be playing for the gold medal on Sunday. That does not mean, however, that the Americans are favorite to take home the gold.
Standing on the other side of the ice from them tomorrow will be a Canadian team that came to the Olympics in their own country with the expectations that anything less than a gold medal would be a failure.
After playing sluggishly in their first game couple of games, and losing to the US in a preliminary round match up, many hockey fans in Canada were looking for answers. Whatever was ailing the Canadians early in the tournament has apparently disappeared in the medal round.
Canada crushed Germany, and then dominated their Russian rivals. Friday night, Slovakia gave Canada all they could handle, but in the end the Canadians prevailed. Now the only team in the way of Olympic gold is the US team.
The US has had little problem with any of their opponents so far. Many analysts believe the Americans were outplayed in their first game with Canada, but the final score said differently. This is a confident team that now believes they are destined for gold.
In their last game on Friday afternoon, the USA dismantled an above average Finland squad. The US had the game wrapped up after they scored six goals in the first period of that semi-final game.
Now, both teams are heading into the tournaments final game with a sense of entitlement. Bragging rights are on the line between two nations that border each other. The US team may be undefeated, but Canada is salivating over the idea of redemption, and both teams expect to win gold.
