Oudin Out To Scramble Gambling Futures At US Open

Melanie Oudin sounds like a seventeen year-old girl when she speaks at her news conferences. Her words and youth, however, have not stopped her from becoming the one player that could most severely affect US Open tennis gambling this weekend.

Oudin has shocked the tennis world by winning four straight matches, all of which were against Russian women who were ranked ahead of her. Now, Oudin is just two wins away from playing in the US Open women's final in New York.

On the men's side, Roger Federer's quest to continue his domination has been the story, but it pales in comparison to what Oudin is doing. At a time when US tennis is down, Oudin is once again giving people in the US something to get excited about on the court.

At this point, Oudin does not even have the hardest path to her first grand slam final appearance. Tonight, she will face off against Caroline Wozniacki, who is ranked number nine in the tournament. Yanina Wickmayer has already advanced to the semi-finals today and would be Oudin's next opponent if she continues her run.

The confidence that Oudin has gained as she has gone on in the tournament has been obvious. In each of her four matches, she has lost the first set and then rallied to win the next two. It is a formula that is working, but Oudin knows to continue her improbable run, she will have to be more prepared for the first set from here on out.
