PGA Betting Odds Not The Same Without Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods is the most dynamic golfer of our generation. Yesterday, gamblers got a glimpse of just what a future Hall of Fame quarterback does to the betting odds of a football team.

This whole weekend, however, those same gamblers can catch a true meaning of what a golf tournament is without Tiger Woods. He changes the betting odds like nobody else in this day and age can.

When Woods is in a golf tournament, the betting odds are put together strictly around him. Anyone looking to bet on Woods will most likely only get even money on their bet.

Every other golfer will have odds that are usually at least ten to one. He is the clear favorite in every tournament he enters hands down. There is no debate about that.

A debate does occur, however, when Woods does not play. Without him in the PGA Championship, there is no clear favorite. There are a bunch of golfers that odds makers clump together at the top. Golfers who could win the tournament, not a golfer who should.

The 2008 season is dragging on without the best golfer on the planet. It will continue to do so until he returns sometime next season. That will also be the time that gamblers will once again have their clear favorite.
