Pittsburgh Steelers Open Defense Of Title Tonight
The Pittsburgh Steelers will recieve their super bowl rings from last season tonight before their game against the Miami Dolphins, then they will begin their march towards defending their title.
The N.F.L. season kicks off tonight, and for the third year in a row, it begins with the defending super bowl champs playing at home on a Thursday night.
The past two seasons it has been the New England Patriots and this year it is the steelers, who come into the season with a few question marks.
First off, the steelers will be playing without their star quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, who underwent an emergency appendectomy on Saturday night.
Also, the steelers lost Kimo Van Olhoeffen and Antwaan Randle El to free agency and Jerrome Bettis to retirement.
Throw in the fact that they are facing what looks to be a much improved team in the Dolphins, and you have the recipe for a very difficult start for the defending champions.
The game tonight starts at 8:30 on NBC.
