Preakness Gambling Odds Say Big Brown Is A Lock
The Preakness Stakes horse race is a little over an hour away, and as post time gets closer, the odds for all of the horses except the favorite are getting longer.
Big Brown won the Kentucky Derby in impressive fashion. The horse took control down the stretch and instantly became a horse that people felt could be capable of winning the triple crown.
While no horse has won the triple crown in over three decades, Big Brown appears to have what it takes to accomplish the feat. The second leg of the triple crown takes place today, with Big Brown as the overwhelming favorite.
The latest gambling odds on the race have sports books claiming that the race will be a runaway. Big Brown is a 1-5 favorite. That means gamblers will have to bet $500 to win $100. No other horse is even close to those odds.
The second choice with just over an hour to post time, is Gallego, a horse that finished in the bottom quarter of horses in the Derby. Gallego's odds are 9-1.
Kentucky Bear is the only other horse that is even in the vicinity of the top two. The odds of Kentucky Bear winning the race are 14-1. Every other horse in the field is considered a long shot by the odds makers.
