Preseason Gambling Favorite Lakers Readying For The Season

The Los Angeles Lakers came out of nowhere last year in the NBA's Western Conference. They were not even predicted by some to make the playoffs. They defied those long odds by finishing the regular season as the best team in the conference.

Even though their journey ended just short of an NBA championship after losing in the finals to the Celtics, they still are the preseason favorites to win it all this season.

The same so-called experts who had the Lakers missing the playoffs last year, are now predicting that Los Angeles, led by Kobe Bryant, are the best team in basketball. Whether that becomes true or not will be determined through the actual games.

Sports books are listing the Lakers as a 3/1 favorite. The defending champion Celtics are the second choice, just slightly behind L.A. at 3.5/1. They are easily the two teams that people expect to see back in the finals for a rematch at the end of this season.

The New Orleans Hornets will not be sneaking up on anyone this year. The Hornets are surprisingly predicted to be the leagues third best team. Their odds of winning the title are 7/1.

The Spurs, Pistons, and Rockets are all at 8/1. The only other team with odds of 10/1 or better are the Utah Jazz. They are right at 10/1.
