Pro Football Gamblers Rolling The Dice With N.F.L. Openers
The National Football League opens it's season this week starting with a game between Miami and Pittsburgh on Thursday night, however the point spreads to some of these games have gamblers searching for answers.
The season's first week has a full slate of 16 games on the dockett, and nine of the sixteen games currently have point spreads of four points or fewer.
That means that all sports gamblers, who have been building up anxiety and excitement all summer in anticipation of making their first wagers of the new season, will have to rely on instinct to pick their games for the opening week.
As the season goes on it gets a little bit easier to figure out the good and the bad teams, and although it does not insure gamblers of knowing who to pick, it does give them a false sense of security that they believe they know who will win.
Longtime sports gambler Billy Dean from Coral Shores says,"Usually when the schedule comes out I circle the first few weeks as profit makers for me, but this year with all the low point spreads it makes it a little tougher on me."
The weeks first season also sees another rarity for a football season, no teams are favored by double digits, and of all the games being played, only two have point spreads of a touchdown or more, New England over Buffalo by 9 and Arizona favored by 7.5.
