Red Sox Facing Elimination at Hands of Indians in ALCS
The Boston Red Sox pulled off the biggest comeback in ALCS history a few years ago coming back from 3-0 against the Yankees, now they face similar odds down 3-1 to the Indians.
The ALCS this year was expected to be a series filled with pitching duels, as these two staffs were the best in baseball this season, however, the Red Sox pitching has let them down and now they are one win away from being home for the winter.
Cleveland has played nearly flawless baseball throughout this year's playoffs, and now they could be rewarded as soon as Thursday when the Indians try to close the ALCS at home with their ace on the mound.
C.C. Sabathia is expected to win the Cy Young award this season and after a rough opening game in this series, he is looking to redeem himself in game 5 and send the Indians into the world series to face the Colorado Rockies.
While the Indians are close, they know better than to assume this series is over, the Red Sox, after all, did pull off the biggest comeback in postseason history when they stunned the Yankees a few years ago after being down 3-0.
Game 5 is in Cleveland, and if Boston can find a way to win they will take comfort in the fact that they will have the last two games of the series back in the friendly atmosphere of Fenway Park.
