Revis Ends Holdout, Will Sign Deal With Jets; Gamblers Rejoice

USA Players Accepted at Rome Casino!

Gamblers all across the US that spent time in Las Vegas sports books this summer betting on the New York Jets to win the Super Bowl, had been stressing the Darrelle Revis holdout. Late Sunday night these gamblers received good news when Revis decided to end the holdout.

At 1AM this morning, Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum announced that the Jets and Revis had reached an agreement on a new deal. Revis had threatened to holdout for the entire season if he did not receive a new contract.

The Jets understood the game of Russian Roulette they were playing by not giving in to Revis. If the season started poorly, New York would have been forced to give in to Revis' contract demands. The upside to starting strong was not as high, with Revis still being key to any potential Super Bowl run.

Gamblers started buying into the Jets for this year as early as last season. When the Super Bowl ended, gamblers began placing their bets for this year, and the Jets were among the most popular teams to bet on. Then, Revis started holding out, and gamblers were concerned.

That concern grew deeper over the past month, when Revis and the team indicated that they were not even close with their contract negotiations. Jets fans became impatient, but gamblers were starting to believe that they had lost their bets before the season even started.

"I placed some money on the Jets when I went on vacation to Las Vegas earlier this year, and I was just telling my friend yesterday that I couldn't believe I wasted my money," said Mark Rubin. "Now, the fact that Revis will be back for week one gives me hope again."

The Jets had one of the better defenses last season, and Revis was a big part of that success. Fans dubbed the term "Revis Island" because of his ability to isolate receivers from their teams' offensive attacks. With Revis back, New York will again become a favorite of analysts heading into week one.
