Rockies Await Winner of Red Sox, Indians, After NL Series Sweep
In the midst of what is the most remarkable run in their sports history, the Colorado Rockies seem to be oblivious to any of the hoopla surrounding their brilliance.
The Rockies finished off a four game sweep of Arizona last night and that now makes seven straight games they have won to start this postseason, the most by any team ever.
Making this run even more amazing is the fact that Colorado has won 21 of their last 22 games. That, in essence, means that they have lost one baseball game over the past month.
If anyone doubted before, it is impossible to to overlook the idea that this team might just be in line to not lose another game until next year.
Now comes the tough part for Colorado, they could potentially be sitting around waiting for their opponent for up to nine days, as the Red Sox and Indians series is still in the beginning stages with Cleveland up 2-1.
Tonight, game four will be played and if the Red Sox win, the series could be set up to go the distance, which would mean that the unthinkably hot Rockies would finally have the time to sit around and reflect on the amazing stretch they are in the middle of.
That scenario could be dangerous for a team that has just rode their youth and inexperience the past month without having to think much.
The waiting game is now on for the National League Champions, and only time will tell if it slows the train that is the Colorado Rockies.
