Roethlisberger's Public Image Gamble Could Lead To Trade

USA Players Accepted at Rome Casino!

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been handed the keys to the most storied franchise in NFL history. His off-field behavior, however, could lead to the two=time Super Bowl winning quarterbacks departure from Pittsburgh.

The Rooney family is one of the most revered in the NFL and they do not take kindly to any individual player undoing decades of work on the team's image. Roethlisberger has been warned by not only team management and coaching staff, but also by legendary quarterback Terry Bradshaw.

All along, Roethlisberger has ignored the advise. He continues to place himself in unsavory positions off the field, and his latest transgression could lead to the end of his run as the Steelers quarterback.

Steelers President Art Rooney finally broke the teams silence on the Roethlisberger subject, and he offered no guarantees that Big Ben would be under center for Pittsburgh next year. Instead, he simply said that he had yet to seek a trade of his star quarterback.

That left the door open for organizations in need of a starting quarterback. He may come with baggage, but when on the field, Roethlisberger has something only one other active QB has-two Super Bowl rings. Teams may have seen the press conference and decided the time may be now to pluck Roethlisberger away from Pittsburgh.

The Steelers have already shown that repeat offenders to a growing image problem within the organization will not be tolerated. Santonio Holmes, a former Super Bowl MVP, was shipped to New York earlier this week. Even if Roethlisberger remains in Pittsburgh, Rooney has made it clear that any more "mistakes" in public, and a pink slip will be waiting.
