San Antonio Spurs Getting Ready To Join Elite of NBA History
One more win is all this group of Spurs will be looking for tonight when they step on the court with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. One more win, that's all that seperates the Spurs from making history in a sport that has been dominated by big market teams over the years.
Right now there are only three teams that possess four NBA world championships, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Boston Celtics, and the Chicago Bulls. That could all change tonight when San Antonio aims to be the fourth member of that group.
Surely, by winning this series the Spurs will have to be considered when people debate some of the great dynasties of all time. The Lakers were led by , of course, Majic Johnson and Kareem Abdul Jabarr, the Celtics had Larry Bird, Dennis Johnson, and danny Ainge, and the Bulls were led by the great Michael Jordan.
The Spurs, although they are not a big market team like the other three mentioned, do have star power to rival those teams, mainly Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili.
The fact that San Antonio has won their championships coming out of the extremely talented Western Conference in the past decade, makes it even more of a remarkable feat.
Now there is still the task at hand of winning tonights game four before all of that dynasty talk, but if the first three games are an indication, the Spurs just seem to have to many weapons for any kind of a series miracle from the Cavaliers.
The game tonight will be shown on ABC.
