Seahawks Trying To Clinch NFC West Tonight
This season has been an up and down year so far for the Seattle Seahawks as they have looked great at times and dismal at others, but tonight they still can wrap up their division with a win over San Francisco in Thursday night football action.
San Francisco comes into the game with a 5-8 record, they have lost their last two which has taken them out of the playoff hunt in the NFC. They do, however, have one of the leagues rushing leaders in former UM star Frank Gore, who continues to pile up rushing yards, but also has 7 fumbles.
Seattle has been a team all year that is somewhat of a mystery, they started the season slowly, then they had injuries to both their starting quarterback, Matt Hasslebeck, and league MVP Shaun Alexander. Somehow though, they have battled through those injuries to still lead their division by three games with a 8-5 record and they look to lock up the division crown tonight.
This is typically the time of year where Super Bowl contenders begin to get hot leading into the playoffs, so if the Seahawks have any intentions of repeating as conference champions this would be a good time to get on a roll.
Game time tonight is at 8:00 in Seattle, the Seahawks are favored by 9.5 and the game will be shown on the NFL network.
