Seattle Survives, Indianapolis Rolls in NFL Playoffs
The Indianapolis Colts came into this years playoffs in an unfamiliar position, having to play on the wild card weekend. After Saturday's game, they ended up right where they have been the past few years, in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs.
The Colts had to endure a week in which they were told that their matchup with the Chiefs was the worst they could have. They answered their critics by winning in overwhelming fashion 23-8 and moving on to face the Baltimore Ravens next week.
Indy has faced high expectations the last few years in the playoffs, and it just might be that this year they will fly under the radar and finally get to a Super Bowl.
In the NFC Saturday, the Seattle Seahawks received a terrible performance from starting quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, but they managed to survive with a win after a last minute chip shot field goal attempt never came to fruition due to starting quarterback and holder Tony Romo mishandling a snap from center and sealing a 21-20 victory for the Seahawks.
Seattle will now either go to Chicago or New Orleans to face one of the NFC's top two seeded teams. The Seahawks, much like the Colts have been listening to the media telling them that they are not as good as last year's team, and whether, indeed, that is true, will not be known for another week when they go on the road to face stiffer competition than the flailing Cowboys.
