Sports Books Look On The Money With NBA Betting Futures
The NBA season is a long journey and one week does not define which teams will be playing for a title in the spring. If the first week trends continue, however, it appears as though the sports books have correctly identified the leagues top teams.
It is no surprise that the two teams that met in last years finals, the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers, were the favorites to go back and face each other again this year. Both teams are returning the majority of their teams from last year.
The Lakers have even added Andrew Bynum, who was injured for most of the season last year. With Bynum in the line up, the Lakers have looked almost unstoppable in the first week. they dismantled both the Trailblazers and the Clippers, and had a nice come from behind win over Denver.
Boston has picked up right where they left off last year, winning basketball games. They also have not lost and do not look like they have fell off from their championship level of 2007.
Other teams that the odds makers predicted would be contenders have also looked good in the season's first week. The Houston Rockets, with the addition of Ron Artest and a healthy Yao Ming, are undefeated and look every bit as good as the Lakers. With the Rockets, it is always a question of whether they can stay healthy.
Cleveland has also started fast. although they lost to Boston on opening night, Lebron James and the crew have rebounded nicely and look as though they are ready to play at a high level all year.
