Sunday Night Football Gambling Returns After Week Off
The NFL likes to think that they are above other sports in the United States. Most of the time they do whatever is best for them, regardless of the effects it has on other sports.
That was not the case, however, last week, when the NFL decided to defer to Major League Baseball and not have a Sunday night football game opposite the World Series. This week, it is back to business as usual.
Tonight's game features two teams that were predicted to be contenders to win the AFC before the season started. The New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts both have been major players in the conference for the past several years.
They will face off in Indianapolis, but the stakes will be drastically different than both expected when the schedules came out. The Patriots are trying to find an identity without their all pro quarterback Tom Brady, while the Colts are just looking to turn around what has been a miserable start to the season.
Both teams have dealt with their share of injuries this year, and the Colts should get a big piece of their offense back tonight. Joseph Addai is expected to return from injury and start against the Patriots.
New England has rebounded nicely of late after getting blown out against the Chargers in a Sunday night game. The Colts, meanwhile, are coming off a devastating divisional loss to the Titans that all but ended their divisional title hopes.
