Super Bowl Favorites Fall To 0-2 in Second Week of NFL Season
Several teams that are expected to compete for the super bowl championship this year have stumbled out of the gates starting the season 0-2 and causing worry amongst their fans.
The Carolina Panthers lost last season in the NFC championship game and the hope was that this year they would advance all the way to the super bowl. Things do not look promising for the Panthers after losing their second consecutive game 16-13 to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
The Washington Redskins traveled to Dallas Sunday night and subsequently lost their second straight game 27-10. The Redskins favored by some to win the NFC east will now have to battle out of an 0-2 hole.
Miami was an in vogue pick this season, however, after losing to Buffalo on Sunday at home 16-6, the team appears to be searching for answers as to how they started 0-2, and also to whether they brought back Daunte Cullpepper too soon after his season ending injury this year.
Tampa bay was defeated by Atlanta 14-3 dropping them also to 0-2 and raising questions about Chris Simms' ability to lead this team back to the playoffs.
Looking toward next week, a big game looms for Carolina and Tampa Bay, as the loser will put themselves in the tough position of trying to battle back from 0-3.
