Those Betting On Harden In Fantasy Baseball Burned Once Again
The fantasy baseball season is now almost two weeks removed from the start of the season. With the early season returns in, the theme seems to be the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Owners of fantasy baseball teams this year are no different than in past years when it comes to Oakland A's ace pitcher Rich Harden. He has dynamite stuff when he pitches, which is just about six to ten times a year.
Anyone who gambled and took Harden this year were pleasantly surprised with his first two starts. Then, the roof caved in once again. Harden was put on the disabled list this week, and the word coming out of the organization is that he could be out for a while.
Outside of Harden, there are other trends that are continuing into the new season. Jake Peavy has picked up right where he left off last year when he won the National League Cy Young. Albert Pujols is once again punishing pitchers, and Hanley Ramirez looks everything like the first round pick he was made out to be.
The season has just begun, and while their is no reason to panic, it appears that not much has changed since the 2007 season ended. For those who took a chance on Harden, it has already been tough luck, but for those who went with the old reliables, it could be a successful summer.
