Tiger Out of the Woods, Favored To Win British Open

A major online sportsbook has just released the odds on the next British Open, and the odds are that Tiger is back out of the Woods for good.

Coming off an impressive second-place performance at the Western Open in Illinois, Tiger Woods appears to be returning to his winning form just in time for the third major of the season.

The British Open returns to the Royal Liverpool course in Hoylake for the first time in four decades. Though the course has been around since 1869, playing in its hilly terrain and deep fescue will be a new challenge for the majority of players, opening the field for a run at the Claret Jug.

Perennial front runners Tiger Woods (9-2), Phil Mickelson (9-1), Ernie Els and Vijay Singh (both at 14-1) top the odds chart based on their consistent performances but recent British Open history has been sparked with huge upsets. Todd Hamilton won the Championship in 2004 and Ben Curtis hoisted the jug in 2003. Curtis is currently an 85-1 bet.
