UEFA Champions League Gambling Reaches Climax In Final On Saturday
The World Cup is the most storied soccer event in the world, and it begins in just a couple of weeks. Before that takes place, however, the UEFA Champions League winner will be crowned on Saturday.
The match up features Inter Milan, which has not won the highest level of competition in Europe in over four decades, and Bayern Munchen, a squad looking to return to the top. The teams features some of the top goal scorers and defenseman in the game today.
Sports books all across the world have placed odds on who will walk away with the prestigious title. Inter is the betting favorite, with odds of -175. That makes them just a slight favorite over the German club. Bayern has odds of +135.
Inter made their way to finals by holding off a determined Barcelona team in the Champions League semi-finals. Inter defeated Barcelona 3-1 at home, then held on to the aggregate by surviving a 1-0 loss on the road in front of 95,000 screaming Barcelona fans.
Bayern reached the finals in more convincing fashion. Bayern defeated Lyon 1-0 at home, and then proceeded to rip Lyon on the road, 3-0. The team has played three matches since the semi-final game with Lyon, and has won all three.
Many of the players taking part in Saturday's finals will be heading to the World Cup to play for their respective countries in a couple of weeks. The World Cup will be played in South Africa, and the hype for the month-long event is starting to heat up worldwide.
