The build up surrounding UFC 118 had the spotlight on two major matches, James Toney against Randy Couture, and Frankie Edgar versus B.J. Penn. For most of the night, however, the UFC 118 live stream online has had gamblers on the edge of their seats.
Mixed martial arts has become the twenty-first century gambling equivalent of boxing in the last millennium. While old-timers will tell story's of Joe Frazier and Sonny Liston, today's fight fans will talk of an octagon, not a square ring. It is a sports phenomenon that is sweeping the world.
Tonight's card for gamblers had a little bit of everything. Early in the night, Mike Pierce used an arm-bar to gain a submission on Amilcar Alves. Pierce was leading on the score cards at the time of the submission in the third round.
Greg Soto defeated Nick Osipczak in a closely scored match, 29-28 on all three score cards. Dan Miller survived against John Salter by using a figure four guillotine in the second round. Nick Lentz made a loser out of Andre winner with a unanimous decision.
As the night moved along, Joe Lauzon won by a first round tap out, Nate Diaz defeated Marcus Davis, and Gray Maynard beat Kenny Florian. As the evening drew closer to the main event, Demain Maia receives a unanimous decision victory over Mario Miranda.
Toney's move into UFC was unsuccessful when Couture forced Toney to tap out just slightly more than three minutes into the opening round. That ended the undercard for gamblers, and all that is left on the night is the main event between Edgar and Penn.
