Week One Surprises Could Be Key For Gamblers in Week 2 of NFL
There were some surprises in week one of the NFL season, teams that should have won lost, and teams that should have lost won, and that has created some off base betting lines for week 2.
A few games this weekend look interesting based on point spreads put out by VIPSports.com
for the NFL.
Atlanta is favored by 6 at home against Tampa Bay. Had Tampa not lost last week at home, and Atlanta not beaten Carolina on the road, this game would have been a field goal spread.
New England is favored by 5.5 on the road against the J-E-T-S-Jets!Jets!Jets!. This line would normally be at least a touchdown, but the Jets victory over Tennessee, coupled with the Patriots barely surviving against the Bills, has this number lower than it should be.
Denver is a 10 point favorite at home against the Chiefs. This is a divisional game, and with Kansas City playing without quarterback Trent Green, oddsmakers feel Denver is the far superior team. What they don't understand, is the Chiefs offense revolves around running back Larry Johnson, and that Denver looked bad themselves vs. the Rams. 10 points is too much for an emotionally charged divisional match up.
This appears to be one of the weeks that gamblers can take advantage of several teams mishaps or good fortunes in week one, leaving oddsmakers to scratch their heads.
