When The Clock Strikes Twelve, The LeBron James Gambling Will Begin

In Las Vegas, high rollers stroll into town and receive lavish comps from casinos in the hopes that later on those comps will pay off in millions of dollars gained on the gambling tables. It may not be Las Vegas, but similar comps will be on display when the clock strikes midnight tonight.

LeBron James will become the biggest NBA free agent in the sports history at that time, and teams are preparing to roll out the red carpet in the hopes of convincing "The King" to sign with their organizations. The Nets will have the first shot, and they are sending two financial heavyweights.

Jay Z is one of James' closest friends, and many analysts believe that Jay Z is an idol to James for what he has accomplished globally. If finances are the key to James' decision, Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov may have the inside track.

Prokhorov is a billionaire that will spend his time tomorrow telling James how to make billions overseas. It will be a similar message to the one that will be spread by Jay Z. Once the presentation ends, James' head may be spinning slot wheels with triple sevens all over them.

Of course, home is where the heart is, which is why the Cleveland Cavaliers believe they still have a chance to re-sign James. The Cavs will draw on James' Akron roots in the hopes of convincing the NBA star that winning a title in his hometown would be a better feeling than winning anywhere else.

Ah, speaking of championships, that may be where Miami figures into the equation. The Heat have enough cap space to sign James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. That would be the top three available free agents in a heavily loaded group. If championships are what ultimately drives James, Miami will be a strong candidate.

The Bulls also have the nucleus to add James and compete for titles. Chicago also has a history that involves the greatest player in NBA history, Michael Jordan. The Jordan effect may end up being the downfall for the Bulls, with James possibly not wanting to follow in those type footsteps.

The Kincks, considered the favorite the past couple of years, have slipped to the last position. With a dysfunctional organization, New York may have lost their opportunity at landing LeBron, instead settling for players such as Joe Johnson and Amare Stoudemire.

Whatever happens when the clock strikes twelve, one thing is certain, it will be wild, and it will change the future of the NBA. Those are odds that are obvious to all NBA fans, and odds thatcannot be defeated by the house.
