Woods And Mickelson May Give Gamblers A Dream Masters Final Round
Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson have been the two best golfers in the world for much of the past decade. Mickelson was the one golfer that analysts thought had the game to compete with Woods on a week in and week out basis.
On Sunday, the pair will be chasing down Lee Westwood, the current leader at The Masters. Although Westwood has the fifty-four hole lead, gamblers may still be looking to Woods or Mickelson to take home the Green Jacket.
Mickelson has the best chance of the two of catching Westwood. Lefty goes into the final round only down one shot, thanks largely to two eagles in his third round on Saturday. Mickelson has won the tournament before, while Westwood is looking for his first major.
Woods almost played himself out of contention after a miserable front nine Saturday afternoon. The number one golfer in the world was able to salvage his round with a big back nine, and now stands four shots behind Westwood.
If Woods makes up that many strokes it would be a historic feat for Augusta. The golf course does not typically lend itself to big comebacks, but if anyone can make a run, it is Woods.
Many wondered whether Woods would even make the cut after taking several months off from professional golf. He answered those critics early on with a big day Thursday. By Friday, Woods had pulled within two shots of the lead, only to fall four back through the third round.
