England will perhaps have the toughest first match of the four top favorites. The English team is playing against the US in a highly anticipated match. England has odds of 8/1, while the US is 50/1. It is a match that features two of the top fifteen teams in the world.
Spain and Brazil are the overall favorites, both with odds holding steady at 4/1. Brazil opens up next Tuesday against North Korea. Spain will begin their run towards the Cup the following day against Switzerland, a team with 200/1 odds.
Other teams that are expected to make a long run through the tournament are defending champion Italy, and a powerful Germany squad. Italy has odds of 14/1, and Germany's odds are slightly longer at 16/1. The World Cup begins on Friday when host nation South Africa takes on Mexico.
