Yankees Off Season Gambling Starting To Payoff In Wins

The New york Yankees are a baseball organization that has always been built on taking advantage of others financial situations. This past off season, that philosophy was magnified because of the current economic conditions in the US.

While most owners were pinching their pennies, the Yankees flaunted their wealth by placing the price so high for possible free agents, that no other team could compete. They ended up signing Mark Teixeira, C.C. Sabathia, and A.J. Burnett. Those were arguably the three top free agents on the market.

Early on this season, it looked as though it was going to be a typical result for New York. All the talented free agents in the world does not make a championship team if there is no chemistry, and early on there was none.

That all changed when the unlikeliest of heroes showed up. Alex Rodriguez has been the media's whipping boy for most of his time in New York, but even the harshest of critics cannot argue that after all the free agent signings, the thing that was missing this year was one of their own.

Rodriguez came back from his injury and the Yankees have not looked back since. Teixeira is finally hitting like the million dollar hitter he was supposed to be, and the pitching has settled in after a tough start.

There is no guarantee that this type of winning can keep up through the summer, after all, it is the Yankees. A rumor here or a tough road stand there, and again the media circus will pick up.
