Las Vegas, Nevada
Las Vegas, Nevada is the casino gambling capital of the world.
Best known as Sin City, the streets are lined with casino-gambling resorts, nightlife, shopping,
and world-class tourism. Las Vegas has the most glamorous image of any city.
Las Vegas started off as a small railroad town back in 1905. Then in 1931,
casino gambling was legalized, followed by the completion of the Hoover Dam five
years later.
Since then, there has been some really interesting news including the fires that destroyed several
casinos such the 'El Rancho' in 1960 and the MGM Grand in 1980.
The opening of the Mirage back in 1989 started the era of the 'mega-resort', inspiring
other major casinos such as the Bellagio in 1993. In May 2005, the city celebrated
it's 100th birthday and coming up in 2007, Las Vegas will play home to the NBA All-Star
Game.
There is always plenty of news and upcoming events in Las Vegas. CasinoGamblingWeb.com
will try to report the most interesting and relevant stories right here on this page.
